The Young and the Restless star Eileen Davidson is getting both criticized and mocked for promoting diet culture. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

The Young and the Restless Star Eileen Davidson Mocked For Promoting Diet Culture

Eileen, who is best known for her role as Ashley Abbott on Y&R, is on the cover of Woman’s World magazine. She shared a photo on her Instagram account. On the cover, it says, “Eileen Davidson: her secrets to feeling great at 64,” along with, “Soup Off 14lbs This Week – Speeds Weight Loss by 691%.”

That last part certainly rubbed a lot of her The Young and the Restless fans the wrong way. A lot of her social media followers believe that diet culture has no place in society today and that she shouldn’t be on a cover of a magazine that promotes it. It goes without saying that many of Eileen’s social media fans and followers sure had a lot to say about the cover. Some of them even mocked her for promoting ‘soup diet’ culture. Some comments included, “Oh my gawd. I thought these archaic notions were from the 80s. This is CURRENT? 14 fricken pounds in a week is so unhealthy wtf!! Cmon @eileendavidsonofficial,” along with, “This magazine makes me want to vomit. So outdated and geared to obey the ‘patriarchy pose weight, fast, cook dinner, look younger, look at all these other women who lost weight’ ugh. It’s gross that this still exists.”

Another critic wrote, “Want if I want to soup off all my body weight ? Would I still exist? Am I in a soup induced existential crisis?”

And then there was this comment as well, “This magazine cracks me up and has been around for so long. They ALWAYS have a diet and a cake or other sweet treat on the cover!!”

So far Eileen Davidson herself has not made any comments about the criticism.
